Clear terms before you reserve.

1. Booking and confirmation

You reserve a vehicle category, not a particular registration number, colour or exact model. A reservation is confirmed only after Rentacar Phuket has received full prepayment and issued a booking reference. If the reserved category cannot be supplied, we may provide a similar or better category. If no suitable substitute is available, our responsibility is limited to refunding the amount paid for the unavailable rental.

Rates and availability are based on the information entered during booking. Any later change is subject to availability and the rate applying to the revised dates, vehicle category and locations.

2. Prepayment and security deposit

All reservation payments are prepayments. The full rental price, selected extras and pickup or return charges must be paid before the reservation is confirmed. Cash prepayment at our Rawai pickup point is currently active. Thai QR and cryptocurrency payments are not available unless and until Rentacar Phuket formally activates them.

A refundable security deposit of THB 5,000 applies to every car and scooter rental. The deposit is separate from the rental price. It may be used for amounts properly due under the signed rental agreement, including damage, missing equipment, cleaning beyond normal use, fuel, traffic or parking charges, late return, unauthorised travel or other renter liabilities. Any remaining balance is released after return inspection and settlement.

3. Driver eligibility and original documents

The main renter and every additional driver must be at least 21 and no older than 65 on the pickup date. Every driver must be named on the rental agreement. There is no extra-driver fee, but each driver must qualify and present the required originals at handover. We do not accept copies, screenshots or photographs instead of original documents.

• Thai residents: valid Thai ID or passport and a valid Thai driving licence for the correct vehicle class.
• Foreign visitors: valid passport, original full domestic driving licence and a valid International Driving Permit covering the correct vehicle class.
• A car-only licence or permit does not authorise the use of a scooter or motorcycle.

If the documents are incomplete, damaged, expired, inconsistent or do not cover the rented class, we may refuse handover. The cancellation terms below will apply.

4. Rental period, extensions and early return

One rental day is 24 hours from the agreed pickup time. Pickup and return must take place at the confirmed time and location. Our normal handover hours are 09:00–18:00 every day.

An extension requires advance approval and prepayment, and depends on availability. The additional period may use a different rate. Keeping the vehicle beyond the agreed return time without approval may result in additional charges and may affect insurance coverage. No refund is provided for unused time following an early return.

5. Cancellation and no-show

The 168-hour period means seven complete 24-hour periods counted back from the scheduled pickup date and time.

6. Pickup, return and one-way charges

Pickup and return charges are one-way and are calculated separately. Rawai is free; Chalong, Kata or Karon is THB 400; Phuket Town or Kathu is THB 500; Patong, Kamala or Bangtao is THB 600; Airport or Mai Khao is THB 800. The confirmed booking shows both charges before payment.

The Rawai pickup point is 48/25, Rawai, Mueang Phuket District, Phuket 83130, at the same address as Breakers Sports & Draft Beer Restaurant Rawai.

7. Mileage and permitted travel area

Mileage is unlimited. Standard use is limited to Phuket, Krabi, Phang Nga and Surat Thani provinces. Travel outside those provinces must be reported and approved in writing before departure and carries an additional charge. Unreported travel outside the permitted area may result in a penalty and is not covered by insurance.

The vehicle must stay in Thailand and may not be placed on a ferry, shipped or taken across an international border without our prior written approval.

8. Safe and permitted use

The renter must care for the vehicle, use the correct fuel and follow Thai traffic law. Only named, correctly licensed drivers may drive. The vehicle must not be used for racing, speed testing, towing, sub-rental, illegal activity, commercial passenger transport or driving instruction.

Do not drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs, through flooded areas, off normal public roads, on beaches or in conditions unsuitable for the vehicle. The renter is responsible for tolls, parking fees, traffic fines, towing, wheel clamps and related charges arising during the rental, including notices received after return.

9. Accidents, breakdowns, damage and insurance

Stop safely and contact Rentacar Phuket immediately on +66 92 970 2876 after an accident, theft, loss, warning light, breakdown or damage. Contact police or emergency services where appropriate. Do not admit liability, abandon the vehicle or arrange repairs without instruction, except where immediate action is needed for safety.

Insurance and damage protection remain subject to the policy and signed rental agreement. Coverage may be refused where the driver is not named or correctly licensed, is under the influence, drives dangerously, leaves the permitted area without approval, uses the vehicle for a prohibited purpose, fails to report promptly, gives false information or deliberately causes damage. The renter is responsible for losses not covered by insurance.

10. Optional extras

Optional extras are subject to availability. Child seats cost THB 100 per day for rentals of three days or fewer and THB 50 per day for rentals of four days or more. Scooter phone holders cost THB 50 per day. Premium helmets cost THB 100 per day.

Inspect all extras at handover. Missing, damaged or excessively soiled items may be charged under the rental agreement.

11. Personal data

We collect and use information needed to process reservations, identify drivers, provide the rental, manage payment and deposits, protect vehicles, respond to incidents, comply with legal or insurance obligations and maintain rental records. This may include identity, contact, licence, booking, payment-status, vehicle-condition and communication data.

Information may be shared only where needed with payment providers, insurers, service providers, professional advisers or competent authorities. We apply reasonable safeguards, retain information only as required for these purposes or by law, and handle personal data in accordance with Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562. Contact us to request access, correction or another right available under applicable law.

12. General terms and governing law

These online terms, the booking confirmation, the handover condition report and the rental agreement signed at handover form the rental contract. If a specific signed term conflicts with this page, the signed rental agreement applies to that rental to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms removes a statutory consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Thai law applies. We will first try to resolve any dispute in good faith. If no resolution is reached, the dispute may be referred to the courts or competent authorities of Thailand. The English version is the primary version until an approved Thai translation is published.
